This news feed is connected to an RSS Web Service supplied by the BBC World Service.
Currently the de-facto standard for news services.

The weather data is provided by a METAR feed supplied by the National Weather Service (NOAA)

The polls results are stored on a MySQL database interfaced by PHP.
The PHP dispatches the gui files seen in the poll.
